swallowed by the city
a train calls in the distance -
where is it going?

pollution - of the air, of the water, of the body, the mind, the spirit. the soul dwells too deep to be polluted by the city. it speaks in a language of silence far different from that of the automobiles, airplanes, buildings, paved roads and paved skies. mindful practice bridges the gap between my soul and spirit. what a wonder-full experience. i can't place blame on everything else, though. it starts with me. in me. sitting in front of the computer screen. wishing there were people to keep me company when i'm lonely. wishing i was in solitude when i'm in the company of other people. i hear a train continuously calling to me the past couple of nights, and this morning, as well. a meditation bell. yet, it doesn't always center me, sometimes my mind follows the train's whistle in the distance. i can't help but wonder, where is it going? where am i going? do i need to go anywhere?
